Apple Picking in Ontario – BROWN BUTTER APPLE BUTTER

October 7, 2013 by Nat & Tim 11 Comments

Fall means apple season and pick your own orchards.  Last Saturday we drove out to Mountain Orchards in South Mountain Ontario, picked tons of apples and ate cider donuts.  One of our favourite things to do when we have loads of apples is to make apple butter. Apple butter is basically apple sauce that’s been cooked down to a thick, delicious spread.

That seems like a really simple recipe! I’m hoping to give it a try later this weekend.

I absolutely love apple butter and it’s something I’ve been craving here in Hong Kong!
