No more sleepless nights

July 26, 2020 by Nat & Tim Leave a Comment

Sleepless nights

I (Nat) have been wearing ear plugs to sleep since 2003 after our first year in New York and barely sleeping a few hours a night. Between the loud neighbours and the traffic noise, it was the only way to get a full night’s rest. I soon became dependent and after moving from NYC five years later, I couldn’t sleep without them, even during the quietest, stillest, night.

Noise cancelling earbuds

So when I was contacted by QuietOn with a promise that their noise cancelling earbuds offer the peace and quiet we all desire on flights, at night or when trying to concentrate on work, we jumped at the chance to try them.

Noise Cancelling

Reusable and rechargeable

As I unboxed them my first thought was, why would anyone spend this much money on noise cancelling earbuds? But when you do the math, if you’re buying foam earplugs on a regular basis, they add up pretty quickly. Why not have reusable, rechargeable earbuds that work well and don’t add to the planet’s pollution?

Designer Antti Ylisassi

The smallest noise cancelling earbuds were born from working with acclaimed industrial designer Antti Ylisassi and then launched after a very successful indiegogo campaign.

Quiet On

Working with active noise cancelling technology, QuietOn earbuds use a microphone to sample sounds around you and a speaker to create a phase-shifted sound to cancel out the unwanted noise.

The package is very well thought out with a cool little case that doubles as the recharging station and multiple size interchangeable ear pieces to get a perfect fit.

It’s all in the technique

I have to admit I had a bit of a tough time inserting them at first and was a little frustrated but after watching their YouTube video and inserting them correctly (it’s all in the technique), I was a convert.

The battery lasts around 20 hours on a charge, they are very comfortable and most importantly they block out constant noise, the type of noise that keeps you up at night.

With their handy sleep and hear modes, you can quickly and easily go from blocking out sound to hearing what’s going on. So you don’t have to remove them when you need to hear.

Noise Cancelling Earbuds

So if a good night’s sleep is what you’re longing for or are just plain serious about quiet time, consider QuietOn.
