Picturesque Italy

Picturesque Italy

If you’ve been following us on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve already seen how picturesque Italy can be. From our house sit in Umbria we are quite close to the regions of Tuscany and Lazio and have been exploring numerous small towns. The farthest so far, only one hour and twenty minutes away.

I have a sweet spot for my mum’s village in Santa Francesca. The market in the nearby town Sora sells the biggest ciambelle I’ve ever seen. Delicious!

Haha we had one at the Siena market. It was giant, the vendor came from Sicily.

Loved seeing the photo of Civita di Bagnoregio. Several years ago, we rented a villa with a group of friends that overlooked Bagnoregio (and of course visited there as well). The owners of the villa had a lovely little shop there that sold olive oil and other wonderful things.

We were also in Umbria last summer. My favorite town was Gubbio, followed by Spello, but my favorite meal was in Todi at Antica Hostaria della Valle.

Hi Lisa, thanks for stopping by. Civita is amazing, we went back twice we liked it so much. We haven’t been to Gubbio or Spello yet but we might get there before we leave. We were going to have lunch at Antica Hosteria in Todi but it was closed when we went so we ate at Pane & Vino and highly recommend it when you’re back.
